Before & After
51st Street – Cave Creek
This territorial home was painted charcoal gray by a previous owner. The current owner wanted to lighten the space, remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room, and switch up the use between the spaces. We created a brand new kitchen design, flipped the dining room and family room, and installed glass walls to the patio in both areas as well as a kitchen eating space that opens to the patio. The goal was to update this Southwestern home without a complete departure from its roots. The light walls along with the architectural changes, using rustic yet modern, organic choices for cabinets, a leathered stone island counter, fireplace materials, and brick floors gave us the spectacular result we were looking for. The new spaces were finished with both new furniture and accessories mixed with some existing pieces, for a curated, collaborative, cozy, rustic look.
66th Way – Scottsdale
The amber tones of the existing cabinets were dated and the space was not functional for this professional chef’s kitchen. We resurfaced the existing cabinets and modified the island to create an elevated eating area.
We used a combination of quartzite countertops and soapstone for the eating area. Ribbed porcelain tiles create a modern backsplash and we finished the lighting plan with fun, dimpled globe pendant lights.
Club PointE Drive – Anthem Country Club
Tuscan overhaul. We traded in the dark jewel tones and curly-cues of the old Tuscan design and created a sophisticated, transitional bathroom that boasts modern lines, unique printed wallpaper, mixed metals and a hint of sparkle. We removed the glass block shower enclosure and replaced it with a pony wall topped with glass, removed the bathtub and replaced with a seating area with storage and a custom bench cushion, and added led lighting underneath. An art niche above the former tub became a lighted, glass-fronted cabinet to display art and accessories and store additional towels. We replaced the vanities with floating cabinets and quartz counters, and added a linen tower to one side for more storage. Backlit mirrors, spectacular light fixtures and timeless tile in the shower complete this luscious, luxurious space.
Amber Sun – Scottsdale
This client loved the functionality of her kitchen and the two-tiered island, but felt it was tired and was ready for a change.
She is a fan of French country style, so we put our spin on it with a combination of white glazed cabinets and a dark stain for the island. We capped it all off with Taj Mahal countertops, a beautiful graphic backsplash show casing the navy blue that she loves, as well as adding gorgeous, over-scaled, navy blue metal pendant lights.
Desert Mountain – Scottsdale
A contemporary redesign was requested for this dated bathroom.
We achieved a beautiful update without changing the footprint of the room. A few modifications to the shower to open it up, as well as a freestanding bathtub and floating contemporary cabinets, help create this restful sanctuary. Brushed nickel penny-round tile behind the circular mirrors is accentuated by dramatic backlighting. We also added the same lighting underneath the floating cabinets. Both subtly-lighted areas on dimmers act as beautiful night lights, in addition to being an important design element. Quartz countertops and sleek plumbing fixtures finish off this renovation, and the clients beautiful artwork along with colorful towels are the cherry on top.
Carefree Mountain Dr – Carefree
This rustic family room had good bones, but needed some updating. We loved the shape of the fireplace and accentuated it with natural, dry-stack stone, removed the hearth bench seat and added beautiful storage cabinets and floating shelves to create a strong, beautiful, rustic focal point in this cozy room.
Happy Hallow – Desert Mountain
From dark and decked with slate, to light, bright, open and serene.
This custom home boasted a rarely used steam shower that created a claustrophobic effect. Dark slate tiles were used on all surfaces, so it was our mission to open and lighten it up.
Although we kept the same footprint for the vanities and near-same footprint for the bathtub and shower, by removing the steam element and opening up the shower walls we gained a significant amount of space, and plenty of room for two people to shower at once. We created a pony wall enclosure, with curbless, door-free entry that hosts multiple shampoo niches inside, but hides the bottles from the sightlines of the main bathroom space. Beautiful, dark walnut stained cabinets contrast against the gentle movement of Taj Mahal countertops. Highly-textured porcelain shower and tub surround tile with an inset of a natural stone decorative border, help bring the rugged aesthetic of the desert inside, but in a sophisticated, inviting manner.
Wayne Lane – Anthem
Clear the clutter, ease your mind. The homeowners goal was to create a calm and relaxing refuge. We helped this along by creating a soothing, neutral color palette that offered both clean lines but also warm woods. We removed the small window from the headboard wall so we could create a beautiful upholstered focal wall. We added three pendant lights over the bed for drama and ambient light, gooseneck sconces by the nightstands for reading, as well as recessed lights on dimmers for when more light is needed. Textured bedding and a custom area rug bring the warmth to the space. A space for lounging and guitar playing complete this primary relaxing retreat.
Hidden Treasure Lane – Anthem
This primary bathroom was generously sized but in need of a change. The client wanted some depth in her cabinet color, so we chose a darker stain and balanced it with lighter countertops.
Texture was important, so we created interest in the floor by laying it in a herringbone pattern and added beautiful mosaic tiles behind individual mirrors for an elevated look.
A freestanding tub offered a more spacious look vs. the old built-in tub, and the crystal chandelier added a sense of glam to this upscale room.
Languid Lane – North Phoenix
Black and white texture was the look this homeowner was going for. Tired of the old blue paint and builder basic fixtures, this homeowner was ready to reimagine her primary bathroom. We removed the tub and relocated the shower in that space, replaced her vanity cabinet with two floating individual vanities with lighted round mirrors and wall sconces, and created highly patterned decorative tile stripes behind each vanity to create a beautiful and dramatic focal wall.
Mirrored modern barn doors cover the opening to the closet and floating shelves provide display space above towel hooks as you enter the spacious new shower.
Few, but select accessories keep this modern space feeling well-appointed and streamlined. A perfect primary sanctuary.
Ravina – Anthem Country Club
While the footprint in this bathroom was efficient, the finishes were dated and screaming for a change. We chose a neutral palette for a restful, spa-like feeling, and the client loved the idea of some sparkle. We added the glamorous element in the mercury glass dimpled pendant lighting, and croc-skin-inspired geometric glass decorative tiles in the shower as well as behind the bathtub.
Since the vanity runs were generous, we decided to add vertical storage in each vanity area to house sheets, towels and other bathroom necessities. Luxury vinyl planks are a wonderful and practical material for a possibly wet floor, and a few, well-placed accessories complete the feeling of rest and relaxation.
Sophora Dr – Cave Creek
Say goodbye to soffits. This contemporary territorial had the telltale signs of when it was built. Lots of drywall stair steps and soffits had to go. We removed these troublesome areas as well as a wall between the kitchen and family room creating one large open concept space. We covered the fireplace with limestone and created simple floating shelves on top of a textured wallpaper media wall, closed up a former sliding glass door wall, to accommodate a small entertaining bar in the family room complete with quartzite countertops. All floors were replaced with beautiful luxury vinyl planks, and the kitchen was reimagined without soffits, but all new cabinetry, quartzite countertops, and beautiful new light fixtures. The new look is light and bright, but rich with texture.
Spirit Court – Anthem Country Club
We took builder basic finishes and upgraded to a transitional, arts and crafts inspired look.
Our geometric decorative tile was the inspiration throughout the room and we carried that theme through custom Roman shade and detail on the new plate glass mirror. The clients never used their bathtub, so we replaced it with a bench with large storage drawers, and custom cushion that suited their lifestyle better. New cabinets, Taj Mahal countertops and lighting finish off this cohesive, clean lined, but warm and inviting bathroom.
Summit Walk – Anthem Country Club
Taking the medieval out of the castle. Long-time clients had purchased a unique, castle-like home, but knew they wanted to put their mark on it. Our goal was to lighten it up and make it work for their young family’s lifestyle, while retaining it’s regal aesthetic.
We achieved this by lightning the kitchen cabinets, changing the old dark counters to new lighter, cristallo quartzite counters, adding a huge new picture window in the family room, and providing custom draperies, area rugs, bedding, accessories and furniture throughout the house. We added new cabinetry in the family room flanking the fireplace, the man cave received judges paneling and floating, lighted display shelves and we created a bar/lounge out of the former, formal dining room. All of these changes have transformed the medieval castle into a graciously comfortable, royal home.
